Horizon International were pleased to be invited to support a series of events, organised and hosted by the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The events are titled “Brexit Unravelled”, designed to help importers & exporters between the UK/EU in preparing their supply chain processes for a “no-deal” Brexit.
Every business trading with European Union and the Rest of World needs to consider the implications of BREXIT on their transactions, the implied increased level of administration, the financial implications and subsequent impact of additional costs on their selling and buying price of goods unless mitigation can be found.
The panel of expert speakers included customs consultants Ian Worth of Harwood Hutton, Barbara Scott of Customs Associates Ltd, representatives from the Department of Trade & Industry (DiT), Anne White – Head of International Trade, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce and Richard Perriman – Vice President, Supply Chain, Horizon International.
The panel provided analysis of the various post-Brexit trade scenarios, provided practical insights into how they would work and what steps businesses should be taking to prepare. Following the presentations by the expert panel, there was an opportunity for delegates attending to ask questions, during which delegates outlined their individual challenges and concerns.
Feedback from delegates has been extremely positive –
Having spent the last 2 months trawling through the abundance of literature available from various agencies, yesterday was the best 3 hours I have spent on BREXIT. Yesterday enabled me to see all the dots join up and assured me that we as a company were on the right path.
I very much enjoyed your presentation (despite the fact that it did not paint a pretty picture, but then you did warn us!).
The information you provided really helped me to understand the potential implications at a granular level. This has helped our company to understand what is needed in order to prepare for the impact of a no-deal departure.
Very informative and helpful, thank you. The presentations provided real clarity regarding the potential impacts of a no-deal Brexit and the preparations we need to make to protect our supply chain.
The demand for places at the event exceeded demand – and has resulted in additional dates being hastily arranged (see link – https://www.thamesvalleychamber.co.uk/event/).
In addition, “one-to-one” clinic sessions have also been scheduled with the experts listed above.
